What therapy looks like with Emily

My lense

  • Therapy is a self care space and personal training for the mind

  • I work with you to:

    • Name emotions

    • Identifying patterns of abusive and toxic relationships

    • Provide a safe and nonjudgemental space to share your story

    • Bring more awareness to the reasons behind your emotional response, behaviors and thoughts.

    • How your story has impacted how you think, feel and act.

    • Build tolerance for those emotions that feel difficult

    • Create healthy choices and relationship patterns that align with your values.

I will work with you to understand yourself more fully using Cognitive behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, client centered and the Gottman method.

What it looks like in session:

We will explore several topics, including:

  • Your family culture

  • The impacts society has had on you

  • The pressures and stressors you have taken on in your life.

Every session is tailored to each individual’s (or couple’s) needs. We will build a relationship that is secure and has boundaries, as I want to make sure I am not playing the role of a family member while we’re in session. I will help challenge the beliefs you hold that no longer serve you to help break the cycle you find yourself stuck in. Together we will work at a pace that best suits your needs to create healthy and consistent relationships. Having a healthy relationship with yourself is important to decrease stress, make decisions that align with your personal values, and find more satisfaction and fulfillment in life.
